Winter 2022: Shop Profits Will Benefit Women Who Have Survived Domestic Violence
During the last quarter, I decided to donate 30% of all sales to help fight against hunger in over 45 countries and treat acute malnutrition. With your support, I was able to donate $324 to Friends of Ruby.
Now, from January to March I will be donating my shop profits to the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic to support their work for marginalized and radicalized populations of women who have survived violence. They provide legal, counselling and interpretation services.
According to reports in 2020 from Statistics Canada, one in ten women is very or extremely concerned about the possibility of violence in the home. And many victims are victimized multiple times before they report to police. While we continue to speak up where ignorance is spoken against women who have experienced violence and listen to the victim's story without judgement, we must bring attention to the services these woman can benefit from to get the help that they need. The Schlifer Clinic uniquely offers free legal, counselling and interpretation services to marginalized populations of women who have survived violence. their experienced lawyers, counsellors and interpreters have helped women from many diverse communities in many kinds of situations.
I had the lovely opportunity to volunteer my design services to the Schlifer Clinic's fundraising efforts. I have seen first-hand how impactful their services are to woman. So with every purchase from my shop, I will be donating 30% of the proceeds to Schlifer Clinic to support their continuation to providing these services for women who have experienced violence. Or please consider donating directly to the Clinic to help support their cause.
Let’s continue to uplift and create a safe space for marginalized and racialized populations of women who have survived violence!
